Our educators work in their own homes, or in the homes nominated by parents. The hours of operation are flexible to meet parents’ requirements. In our home-based childcare programme, each educator cares up to four children, and no more than two children under the age of two years at a time. They respect each child’s routine and set rules to encourage positive behaviours. They can access Sparkles’ toy and book libraries, and regularly participate in outings to enrich children’s learning experiences. Each month, the educators receive a home visit from a qualified early childhood teacher. With a link of New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum Te Whāriki, the visiting teacher and educator discuss how children learnt and developed, and plan learning programme in response to each child's unique interests and needs. Our visiting teachers assist the educators to document each child’s learning and progress and save all the milestones and meaningful moments in the child's profile.
Parents with Sparkles will feel stress-free during their busy days. They are welcome to pop in to breastfeed their babies or spend a break time with their kids during the day. They are also invited to go to playgroups and special events with their children and educators to have fun and interact with others in an external world other than a home environment. Parents will be kept in touch through daily conversations, phone calls, WeChat messages, emails, newsletters, and regular surveys. They can follow up their child’s progress via artwork collection, photo display, daily activity record, and learning stories.
